Meet the one with the looks, the brains, the build and the skills- Hershey!
Hershey is a 5 year old crossbred gelding. He stands 15.2 hands tall and he is a beautiful palomino color with a beautiful conformation. He has a super thick build to him and is put together very well. He is 1/4 Belgian and 3/4 Quarter Horse. His dam was crossed between a Quarter Horse and a Belgian and his sire was a Quarter Horse. Hershey is athletic, agile and strong, all while being calm, gentle and reliable. He has obtained all of the best qualities from both the Quarter Horse and the Belgian.

We have owned Hershey for the past 2 years and in that time he has been our ranch horse, trail horse, family and friend horse and trick horse! Hershey is super laid back, gentle and friendly. He has the sweetest disposition and is full of personality! He loves your attention and is enjoyable to be around! Hershey has been a trusted mount for our entire family. From rounding up cattle, going on trail rides to showing off his tricks-Hershey’s skills and experience are quite extensive and he is truly an amazing versatile horse!

Hershey has spent a great amount of time in the indoor and outdoor arenas. He will one-hand neck rein, lope circles both ways taking the correct leads, has a big stop and works off of leg pressure. His lope is super smooth and enjoyable to ride. We’ve ridden him in a halter and even with a rope around his neck many times!

On the trail, Hershey is safe and surefooted. He navigates even the roughest terrain with ease and will go anywhere that you ask him to. Whether it is up and down steep hills, through deep water or mud or over trees and through brush- he will get you where you need to be and do it safely. He will ride in the front or the back, alone or with a group!

Hershey is also a trick horse! He will lay down and sit up like a dog and will do this at your command, both while you’re mounted or while you’re on the ground. Hershey will also follow you around like a puppy at the command to “come,” and he loves to do this. With his big personality, he loves doing the tricks and following you around. He is such a sweet soul and truly loves to be in your pocket. He will also side pass to a mounting block or whatever you choose to mount from! He is a super intelligent horse and could be easily taught even more things than these! He does have some buttons but he is super easy to operate!

Hershey is also a big help around the farm! He has been used to check fences and cattle very often and is no stranger to a rope and a crazy cow and he has been pasture roped off of. He has been used at the stockyards as well. Anything from sorting, penning and loading trucks- he is familiar with it. He has also been exposed to a lot of wildlife such as deer and turkey. He is also used to the goats, cats and dogs that run in and out of the stall and pasture with him. He is friendly to people, other animals and other horses.

Hershey is also great with tarps, whips and guns as you can see in the video. He is completely traffic safe as well. He is clean and quiet in the stall, and gets along well with other horses in the pasture. He is more than easy to catch, he will come to you every time you call! Again, he loves the attention and is full of character! Hershey stands patiently in the cross ties and for the farrier. He loads and hauls wonderfully and loves grooming and a bath!

Hershey rides amazing in both English and western tack. He is a super versatile horse. He could do anything!
