We’re John and Molly Sparrow of JM Lazy S Versatility and Family Horses, and we’re truly excited to be offering another set of fantastic geldings at the Southern Belle Classic. Our family operation is built on versatility and a deep love for God, good horses, and the adventures that have shaped who we are. A few years ago, we stepped away from our life in North Idaho—leaving behind a thriving construction business and Molly’s career as an Ag Teacher—to follow our “horse crazy” dreams. We moved to southeast Kansas with nine dogs, big faith, and even bigger hopes for what God had planned. Our passion for horsemanship has taken us across the world, from trekking over Peru’s Salkantay Pass and riding through the mountains of Kyrgyzstan to fox hunting in Ireland and racing across the desert sands of Egypt. Each journey deepened our appreciation for what it takes to make a horse truly versatile, confident, and safe. Molly grew up training and showing performance mules and traveling the country with a specialty rodeo act, while John, a 5th-generation draft horse man, brings a wealth of experience in driving, draft horses, and crossbred versatility. Together, we focus on shaping horses with great minds and real-world exposure and ranch work like doctoring cattle, sorting, roping, and loading trucks. At the heart of everything we do is our commitment to offering “gentle horses for gentle folks”—horses that are seasoned, capable, and ready to take care of their riders whether they’re working cattle, dabbling in English, riding to town, or exploring new country on the trail.
