Where to begin with Jigsaw? He has been my go-to horse for five years. He has a warm, people loving personality that makes him a favorite to everyone that meets him. He is also kind and sensible with other horses. He is the "steady" that I turn young horses out with to help them make good choices. He is the pony horse for colts that are just learning to lead or the rock I saddle and ride when I need to dally youngsters, when they're first being saddled. He is my equalizer when I push or sort cattle. Horned cattle poking him in the hind parts do not concern him! He is also very cowy and will not lose a cow if you're asking him to hold a herd.
Jigsaw has been a joy to show. He is willing and chill in a reining pattern and easy-peasy on flying lead changes. He is a rock star in a ranch trail class and has also dominated the ranch riding. If riding lessons are part of your barn routine, Jigsaw has his masters degree in helping green riders experience all three gaits with ease and more importantly, build confidence!
I always tell people that he is my own personal sail boat! I'm not one to go to the lake, but when I'm stressed or sore, the "sail boat" I call Jigsaw has been my best medicine. He is hands-down the smoothest, easiest horse I have ever ridden. His rocking chair lope is just this side of heaven and feels like the equestrian version of peaceful meditation.
I have fallen in love with the Ozarks from the country I have explored with Jigsaw. When I NEED time to recover from life, he is the one I have saddled and disappeared on. Therefore, he is comfortable riding out alone. In groups, he is usually packing a green rider for me, but he is still courageous in water crossing, hill climbing, and white tail deer attacks. Just kidding about the aggressive deer, but you know what I mean.
At this point, you are exactly right. It is extremely hard for me to sell him. But more and more, he is standing there looking at me with big, sad eyes when I am riding younger, greener horses. Jigsaw LOVES his many jobs and LOVES ladies and kids. It is best for him and he totally deserves to be someone's one and only. He would also be right at home in a big program with lots of kids and a never ending flow of grooming, riding and attention.
Jigsaw has never been unsound and he has never been sick. His heart is as big as he is. If you love to stand out in a crowd and truly appreciate originality, I recommend Jigsaw. Please meet him in person, ask me questions, and feel the joy of an equine sail boat for yourself! He is one of a kind.
